Maintenance of Prophy-Mate
It is always a burdensome job to fix blockages in head and nozzle after using teeth polishing powder.

Why does polishing powder cake?
The primary ingredient of NSK Prophy Cleaning Powder is sodium hydrogen carbonate that cakes up by its nature when get humidified. If you leave unsealed package for a while or unused portion in powder case, you might find the powder hardened up by reacting with moisture in the air.
To Prevent Clogging
Once you open a powder package, use it up and discard any left over.
Thoroughly clean the inside of powder case and handpiece. Make sure no powder is left over before storing.
After cleansing or boiling up, use a syringe to blow off remaining moisture and dry the handpiece completely before using.
Check your air supply to see no humidity is included.
* Checking air supply humidity
Take a hose off the joint and wipe off any moisture on the water outlet. Let suction air blow out onto tissue paper for several seconds to see if any moisture comes out.

For NSK Mach & Phatelus Joint Type Users
After you disconnect a handpiece, attach air nozzle to coupling joint. Then, connect the air nozzle to the handpiece joint to clean up powder and water left in the handpiece. If the joint is loose, water might get into air supply and cause clogging by powder.
* When connecting hose to Prophy-Mate or coupling joint, be sure to tighten hose nut firmly. If the joint is loose, water may get into air supply and cause clogging.
